6 Years Wolfenstein4ever
RtCW and ET are still living today because of a good community and a few remained news-sites and the fact that still no comparable free game with this excellent gameplay exists! But our belived Wolfenstein-games had to face this year an hard task.
The offical masterservers went offline for a couple of months and this exactly on an friday the 13th! It seemed that our "old" games don't survive this. But a few people with knowledge created patches for RtCW and ET and helped with alternate maserservers, so a lot gameservers was again reachable. Unfortunatley are the alternate maserservers no solution that will last forever because they can compensate the problem only for a matter of time.
Id-Software activated the masterservers again after long 3 months. Thanks god ET survived this and became a small revival.
RtCW is another story, until this day the masterserver is still down, but on Facebook ID told us that all masterservers are back online and fully working. What a lie...
At the beginnin gof this year as the masterservers was online RtCW had still a good time with ca. 300 to 400 players per day. But without this important maserserver has RtCW only a maximum of 100 players worldwide.
Thank you ID-software that you nearly pushed RtCW without an equal replacement over the edge! So, this had to be said.
Last but not least I wanted to shout a big THANK YOU to all fans and guests of Wolfenstein4ever and wish you a nice time while playing RtCW or ET as ong as it's possible to play the games.
RtCW und ET leben auch Heute noch - dank fleißiger Community, einigen übriggebliebenen News-Webseiten und der Tatsache, das es immer noch kein vergleichbares Spiel gibt, welches ein so einzigartig-gutes Teamplay besitzt und auch noch umsonst ist! Aber unsere geliebten Wolfenstein-Games wurden dieses Jahr hart auf die Probe gestellt.
Die offiziellen Masterserver vielen aus über mehrere Monate hinweg und zwar genau am Freitag den 13.01.! Es drohte Gefahr, das unsere "veralteten" Spiele diese Master-Abschltung nicht überleben. Doch findige Tüfftler aus der Szene kreierten Patche für RtCW und ET und halfen mit alternativen Masterservern aus und viele Gameserver waren wieder "erreichbar". Doch leider sind die alternativen Masterserver keine Patentlösung die das Problem dauerhaft kompensieren können.
ID-Software hat erst nach geschlagenen 3 Monaten den Masterserver von ET aktiviert. ET hat es - gott sei dank - überlebt und blüht jetzt sogar wieder auf.
Bei RtCW sieht es leider sehr schlecht aus - Der offizielle Masterserver ist bis Heute nicht mehr aktiviert, obwohl ID-Software per Facebook sogar behauptet das alle Masterserver wieder funktionieren - welch Lüge.
Anfang des Jahres, als die Masterserver noch aktiv waren, Stand es um RtCW noch relativ gut, mit ca. 300-400 Spielern pro Tag. Aber ohne diesen wichtigen Masterserver hat RtCW jetzt nur noch maximal 100 Spieler Weltweit.
Danke ID-Software, das Ihr ohne würdigen Nachfolger (weil Wolfenstein 2009 ist kein würdiger Nachfolger) RtCW in den Abgrund getrieben habt! So, das wollte ich mal loswerden.
Zum Schluss möchte ich noch allen Fans und Gästen von Wolfenstein4ever HERZLICHST DANKEN und wünsche weiterhin ausdauernden Spaß beim Zocken von RtCW und ET, solange es noch geht.

Fileplanet (IGN) closes after 13 years - One of the first file hosting websites of it's time, alongside with FileLeech and (now) Game Front, FilePlanet was excitedly launched on May 6th, 1999 by the well-known Gamespy, to serve the popular Quake 2 community at the time. IGN then purchased Gamespy in 2004 and redesigned the website.Now 2 months later, iIt iscertainty now, all workers are discontinued and file planet closes his gates definitely and archive his contents. How long the user downloads remained active is uncertain.
Fileplanet (IGN) schliesst seine Pforten nach 13 Jahren - Als einer der ersten Datei-Hosting-Webseiten seiner Zeit, neben FileLeech (jetzt Game Front), wurde FilePlanet am 6. Mai 1999 erschaffen von dem bekannten Gamespy, das die beliebte Quake 2-Community zu dem Zeitpunkt unterstützte. IGN kaufte Gamespy 2004 und gestaltete die Webseite um.Jetzt 2 Monate später ist es Gewissheit, alle Arbeitskräfte werden entlassen und Fileplanet schliesst seine Pforten endgültig und archiviert seine Inhalte. Wie lange die User-Downloads aktiv blieben, ist ungewiss.
Like already for the World Championship in 2010, the German RtCW-clan (Delta Force Warriors)also offers this year, in cooperation with Wolfenstein4ever, the possibility on the games the UEFA European Championchip 2012 of typing.
There are presents for the first five best typings in the value of over 150 euros! 
Besides the tips on single games, the European champion 2012 is guessed, on the top scorer and on some other small bonus bets.

John Carmack officially leaves id Software
John Carmack, Gründer und Technical Director bei id Software, hat das Studio verlassen, um sich in Zukunft vollkommen auf seine Arbeit als CTO bei Oculus zu konzentrieren, wie Bethesda mittlerweile offiziell bestätigte. Carmack trat im August dem Oculus-Team bei - damals hieß es noch, dass er sein Amt bei id weiter ausüben möchte.
"John Carmack, der sich mittlerweile an anderen Dingen als der Spieleentwicklung bei id interessiert zeigt, hat das Studio verlassen. Johns Arbeit an der id Tech 5-Engine und der Technologie für derzeitige Projekte bei id Software ist vollendet, weswegen sein Abgang keine aktuellen Entwicklungen beeinflussen wird. Wir sind glücklich darüber, dass wir über eine solch brilliante Gruppe an Programmierern bei id verfügen, die mit John zusammengearbeitet haben und id's Tradition, gute Spiele mit Spitzentechnologie zu entwickeln, fortführen werden. Wir wünschen ihm als langjährige Kollegen alles Gute."
John Carmack gründete id Software im Jahr 1991 und schuf damit das Fundament für die Entwicklung mehrerer bekannter Spieleserien wie Doom, Quake oder Wolfenstein. In diesem Jahr hat bereits ein anderer ranghoher Mitarbeiter des Studios das Team verlassen. Der Präsident und frühere CEO Todd Hollenshead verließ den Entwickler nach fast 17 Jahren.
